A taster session at Elmhurst is an opportunity for prospective students to experience a day in the life at our school. When applying for a place, we invite your child to join us so they can get a feel for the environment, routines and community at Elmhurst.
For our youngest applicants, Little Elms, we offer a 30-minute taster session that introduces them to the school setting in a gentle and engaging way.
For children applying to join Reception through Year 6, we invite them to stay for the entire school day. During this time, your child will attend classes, participate in activities and have lunch with their peers. This immersive experience helps us understand how your child might integrate into the Elmhurst community and daily schedule.
The taster session also serves as a chance for our teachers to observe your child and allows us to see how they interact with their peers, respond to classroom activities and settle into new surroundings. A brief and informal assessment may be conducted during the taster session to help us better understand your child’s needs and how we can support their learning and development. Based on the insights gained from this session, we can make an informed decision about offering a place at Elmhurst. Our goal is to ensure that each child feels comfortable, happy, and ready to thrive in our school environment.
