Year 6 were given a task to create a menu with a budget of £120 to feed a family of 4 for a week, to include breakfast lunch and dinner. After creating their menus, they visited a local supermarket to see how realistic their menu was. They had to then adjust their menus accordingly, taking into consideration the cost of ingredients and any deals that were on. The project has been designed to explore Maths and apply it in a real life contexts, allowing children to see how important Maths is in all aspects of life.
